Through the Wall
VR balance and fitness game
Overview
A VR fitness game inspired by the show Hole in the Wall: players match their body pose to cutouts in approaching walls to train balance, posture and coordination, with rising threat levels (ground, water, lava) and heart-rate tracking. Developed with DFKI, the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, for research into VR and physical interaction.
Highlights
- 01Full-body pose matching using head, hand and foot trackers
- 02Threat levels (ground, water, lava) that change how urgent each wall feels
- 03Heart-rate monitoring with a Polar H10 and a logger that syncs tracker and heart-rate data for the study
- 04Calibration from a T-pose to scale each player's limbs

My role
Developer
One of four developers on the project. I built the menu and the T-pose calibration scene that scales the player's limbs, organised the project's scenes and assets, and wrote the setup and study-manager documentation.
